A wheel shimmy is derived from an oscillation caused by the unstable motion of a wheel as it moves in circles. This type of movement can be declared as unsafe and is usually detected in the front wheels of a vehicle. This normally happens due to tyres being out of balance. This vibration starts once a vehicle moves from roughly 80km/h and worsens around the 90km/h mark before easing up.
